The project will now continue through site plan approval and permitting before construction begins.

New Mixed-Use Development Proposed Near I-95 in New Smyrna Beach

A proposed 181-acre mixed-use development near Interstate 95 and State Road 44 received a recommendation for approval from the New Smyrna Beach Planning and Zoning Board.

Port Orange Investing Nearly $5 Million in Stormwater Improvements

The City of Port Orange is moving forward with the $4.93 million Portona Area Drainage Improvements Project.

The project will include:

  • Improved water quality
  • Better storm protection for nearby homes

Daytona Beach Shores Considering Name Change

Residents may soon vote on changing the city's official name from Daytona Beach Shores to simply "The Shores."

If approved, the proposal would appear on the November ballot. City officials say the change is intended to strengthen branding while improving tourism and business recognition. The proposal would not change city boundaries or government operations.
